What drives retention in platforms like astro talk ?

3 reasons:

1. When people are uncertain about present situation and had some bad events in the past, they become anxious about future, which leads them to know more about future so that not to face or avoid bad things
2. Astrologers also try to place the "hooks" mostly during the end of the call/chat, which leads people to recharge and continue the conversation.
3. People are lonely in India(may be abroad also idk) and they want to talk to someone or know things. Surprisingly such people also come more in astrotalk.( I don’t have data points to prove it, but you can observe this "lonely" trait in people and correlate with their astrotalk usage)

Astrologer says 10 things and out of them if 2-3 things happen and people start believing in it. Mostly their business depends on to make feel good to users with predictions.

Even if something is wrong in someone’s life and they suggest something to resolve it and after some rituals it got resolved which was gonna resolve anyways but people believe it was expedited due to that rituals, this build trust and people keep coming back to the platform for more.

Emotion.

I guess, it's human nature to not discuss or disclose everything to our close ones. So they discuss it with a stranger, who'll not judge but provide some random solution.

For Indians, Astrology is therapy. I personally know people who have benefitted tremendously just by hearing an astroger tell them "Don't worry, in 6 months everything will be alright"
