Most startup founders are like this, zero empathy or care for humans. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Yeah, a friend of mine who used to work at a Bengaluru startup. The founder told him to post a design brief on Internshala and get ideas from those internship-seeking students.

Where’s the metric for customer “satisfaction”?

TwirlyCupcake
TwirlyCupcake
Gitlab23mo

The tricky part is that, many customers will leave when they are presented with an automated system, Which will make the average duration of the interaction faster. It is hard to measure whether the customer is satisfied or not. Very few fill the satisfaction survey, and will have selection bias

Its calculated with the same formula of "adjusted ebita"

you can't make this up but mfer endes the thread saying that Dukaan is hiring.

SqueakyMochi

I saw his Twitter. Looks so confusing. ‘Fired people. Employed bots. Now hiring people who love bots’ - little children setting out to solve problems with “even I want, even I want” & “look at me, I am so cool” attitude. Someone just go and take his money away.

He copied Khatabook’s Idea. Nefarious guy.

JazzyJellybean

I want to know more, what exactly happened? I do remember some story of him stealing code, but I don't have complete info

ZoomyMuffin
ZoomyMuffin

I read it on Morning context - Apparently these guys from Dukaan had an agency and were handling development/marketing (?) for Khatabook’s new project which is what Suumit copied and later on claimed that it’s their project and named it Dukaan.

I however appreciate the kid gives it straight. Remember, his business is always under threat from big ECOM players. He has definitely fckd the support guy. They will need to reskill. Its saf but its Predator behaviour - humans are Apex predetaors. Remember that when we come to work everyday.

He's the classic example of the funding boom. Red flags from day 0 of his business. His take, while it could be true, is hollow as fuck. These "AI chatbots" for Indian vernacular usage don't have the ability to make business impact he claims.

What he does give straight is snake oil.

TwirlyMuffin
TwirlyMuffin

He cannot move to all vernacular instantly. Maybe English and Hindi will bring down costs a lot. Other vernaculars may still have dedicated ppl.But yes he is showing off a solution that does not improve core business. The time is less as AI may mark issues as closed as against Comstant back / forth and disagreements with ailing customers

IndusInd has implemented it. I regularly get minimum of 2 calls daily via IVR bot for their credit card. What persistence!

Startups and businesses are there for making money. Sad reality is if you don’t up-skill, someone else will take your job. Hell, people play politics between themselves to race ahead. From a business owner POV, he’s done a great job.

No one is saying anything about the layoffs it's the way of using that as a content piece and showing zero empathy.

His glory was the achievement of using AI to save customer costs. I anyways don’t like the guy. He kind of stole the Dukaan idea from another company, and incorporated his company.

GroovyBurrito

The worst thing was his reply to one of the guys asking about what happened to 90% of the laid off folks. His reply: "As expected, 'someone' will get offended on behalf of 'someone else', so I had this reply ready:

Assistance ke bare mein jab Linkedin pe post karunga tab dekh lena mere dost, yahaan Twitter pe log "profitability" dekhte hai "sympathy" nahi.

Also - "it was tough decision" 💔"

Nah. Just trigger happy. Most folks would stop backfilling for attrition and get the same results over an year
