WFH vs Lonely city life

I started my career during COVID, so it has been remote job since then. I was asked to move to a city some months back. But I felt very lonely during weekends whenever I was in the city. I am never interested in meeting strangers in meetups and forcibly have short talks. Apart from working days, the weekends were really painful. There has been days where I went a complete day without talking with anyone. Now I'm back to hometown for a new remote job. Though I'm happy, I earn good and save a lot, spend time with my family, help them with chores, I'm also afraid if I'm missing out on something because of lacking a social City life. Is it common or am I overthinking?

You can have a social life in hometown as well. Takes time but it's not impossible. That's what I'm working on too.
