Don't leave the job till you have revenue.

1. Build a website with wailist if it's B2C or get an intent to buy if it's B2B
2. Work your ass off to build product, beg, borrow steal till you get some revenue.
3. Do this iteratively, don't wait for perfect product. Talk to your cusotmer and find out what's working and what's not.
4. Once you get enough users pump your bags.

I am also building some close source mobile apps , maybe I think those have potential to reach masses , What will be pro and cons of open-sourcing my app .Can you also share some good resource to find out how to opensource a industry standard project. I have also open-sourced one project where peoples can share their raw creative ideas , so lot of peoples have contributed with enthusiasm then I feel the power of open-sourcing,but after that I got placed in a startup and after that due to workload I not got that much of time to experiment with open-sourcing.
