Views on using AI for projects.

Today I realized that I'm dependent on chatGPT for writing code and debugging. The problem is that I am a college student (5th sem). I am starting my career using these tools which might not have been the case for anyone who is a little older. Is it an advantage for our generation or a handicap?

I absolutely love how easy things are for us. Can this hurt in the future though, how?

What are the views of the old folks?

Yes this can hurt. Don’t use it for writing code where logical part is involved, otherwise when in real world you have to write code or come up with solution without chatgpt, you will get stuck.
btw, many Organisations too have started using it, but that is for increasing efficiency and speed, not to outsource thinking to thirdparty tool.

Do you usually get in scenarios where you have to come up with a solution without having access to the internet, or where the use of such tools is prohibited?

No. But then I some times apply own mind rather than quickly searching the solution on internet, that helps to have mental exercises. Also, sometimes you may not have access to computer at all, and may have to plan things at paper, or discuss the solution among peers, at those times it is more about analytical ability than about any quick solution.
So all in all, while searching for syntaxes and method references, should be used, if you are habitual at copy-pasting the entire solution, that should be avoided.

If you're just starting out in life, then please train yourself to work without it. Recently, ChatGPT was down. At first, I was frustrated but then I went back to Google and Stack Overflow. Made me think of an analogy. I know how to drive a stick shift and an automatic both.

Is the slow learning speed going to be worth the benefits considering that placements are around the corner?

Reliance on ChatGPT

To all the devs (working professionals and students), how much do you rely on ChatGPT for your code? Do you explicitly use it to generate code logic, or only use it for debugging?

Plus, do you think that the newer generation of stude...

4.5L to 40L in 4 years.

Hi guys. So this is not a brag and I don't know if this progression is good in today's market or not.

I went from a 4.5 LPA package in 2020 from service based company to gradually 40LPA(base) in startups. If anyone has any doubts relate...
