Hi,
I am an azure data engineer with 3YOE. I am looking to transition to AI/ML or data science roles. Need guidance about the career path and transition.

@NotAConformer - I wouldn't suggest you do it at this point. U already have 3 years of experience in some field which u haven't mentioned. But whatever that is, indirectly it means that experience is a waste. I consider 1 year itself as very important hence I haven't taken drop during jee advanced. Whatever technology, as long as it's not BPO I don't think it can be replaced. Instead of transitioning, I would say first try it out.
Plan: Before moving to AI. Search about what is model. How model is trained. Retraining, etc on Google/youtube. If u find those videos interesting then go ahead, if not it will be same cycle again. U will think of transitioning to SDE role which is even in higher demand.

I am a data engineer. It is the backend of the data ecosystem. Few of the projects in my company serve data to LLMs. My company is also promoting AI. I am taking a course on ML and AI in which I have to do a project every month. I hope this gives you a context. Please suggest now @ShadowStriker_002

Hi, as an Azure Data Engineer with 3 years of experience, transitioning to AI/ML or Data Science is a great move leverage your data pipeline skills to build end-to-end ML workflows. Start by mastering Python, ML fundamentals, and model deployment on Azure (using ML Studio or Databricks). Build hands-on projects and gradually shift to roles like ML Engineer or Data Scientist.

Data engineering domain is better than AI/ML.

Any specific reason?

Ai/ml coz this has huge scope in coming future
