My Dad moved to hometown after retirement. Got depression after not doing much for year and relatives were staying close buy 😑. He has more than enough money not to work.
Now he does farming, bee keeping and is helping local religious committee in construction with an orphanage. I have never seen him healthier, this busy and happy.

I'm still working because I don't know anything else. I come from a business family and I don't want the headache of running my own business. People have been critical of this viewpoint but so be it. I know my strengths and building a network of any kind isn't it. Anything else I like doing, I do in my free time.

In fact since I'm working despite not needing it, I've been able to educate multiple people in my extended family and help some others avoid debt. So that's another motivation

I am assuming u mean dollar millionaire which is roughly 8cr You cant retire at 8cr, unless u want a frugal lifestyle. However why do people work post 5-10 mil is beyond me. I think they are product of capitalism and draw their self worth from work. People saying u need a purpose in life and then saying that purpose is work. Lol

You can retire comfortably at 8 cr. Put 5 cr into fd earning 7% interest which will fetch you 35 lpa. Remaining 3 cr in the stock markets

Each man needs always needs a purpose. Sitting at home is not an option. A rephrased question rather: Give you’ve borderline achieved final freedom, why do you willingly engage in office crap (MIS, asap, pls fill the sheet, what’s the ETA etc etc)? You could take up a slightly relaxed job or do some for the community

One crore is not enough to last a lifetime for a family. You need at least 5 to 10

It’s fun and gives something to do/something to look forward to. Atleast that’s the official answer

Deep down I’m just shit scared wondering what people will think, how will my life change, what will I tell people or how would i interact with them knowing I am jobless. Right now I dont think about money but I am scared what will happen if I have to start counting & managing money

Cuz we wish to be billionaires. I know where this goes, once I have enough I'd want to be a multi-billionaire but I guess that's the rat race we all talk about.
