Study Finds Majority of Subscription Apps and Websites Use 'Dark Patterns'

Dark pattern- though beneficial in short term, in long run using such tactics will harm the reputation of the org and customer loyalty.

Having said that, the sad reality is most of the orgs use that to keep their customers engaged with their product.
