Self Realisation

I recently was laid off from Walmart , so Im having mixed feelings . Feeling of liberation and dejection . Grapevine is a great platform where I get to express my innate thoughts . But till recently I was so full of myself and had grown egoistic due to new found financial freedom . But now that I have lost it , I look around in simple markets and embrace this ordinaryness . It feels like I’m back to my roots and it’s liberating . My feeling of judgement towards the trespassers transitions to familiarity and embracing simplicity. Fake happiness blinded by money slowly replaced by deep reconnect with nature and everything that’s around . Till recently when I was employed I was yearning where would I find my old true child self, it is now slowly starting to unravel!

I felt like this when I resigned from previous company. Its as if I had an invincible heavy sack carried around my shoulders which dropped the day I resigned. The freedom to build what I think is relevant or to look things in new ways excited me following the days after resignation. But then reality strikes when I see the offer letter of the new company knowing that I am going to enter the same rut.

One of the good things to come out of this is that you get a chance to reflect. Layoffs are hard because even when its not personal we often tend to take it to heart and start to question our sense of self which again is brutal.

But one mans lost item, others treasure right?

Plus now we can appreciate that detach detach detach. Worldly possessions/titles all come with an expiry date.

(Me being absolutely hypocritical cuz I would 13/10 loath and groan if I were part of restructuring)

Good luck!
