Onshore employees have no time respect for fellow Indians working in India

Rant I have this person who has been nominated as POC from New Zealand. I have been trying and chasing the person to schedule calls, and till now I have rescheduled 4 times because he is now showing up on the time slots HE communicated. Even though I adjusted my work schedules according to his time slots, given I start my work as per USA timing. That's highly unprofessional. It goes like- Me: Hey! Let me know what time suits you? Him: my calendar is free from so and so. Please schedule 😃 On the day of call

Him: Hey can you reschedule to * absurd timings which don't suit IST* Or Him: I'm unable to join, my calendar is blocked

I'm so frustrated. I have messaged him ( in corporate speak) that I have already rescheduled so many times based on your schedule ( which you communicated) I would appreciate it if you show up. I am already working beyond my standard working hours for you.

Why don't you do the same? Show you aren't someone to be stifled with?

Like say, hey, these are my working hours in whatever his local timezone time. I am most effective in this time. Let me know what works for you within this timeline so that we can effectively communicate and move things forward.

Remember, unless you take stand for yourself, no one else would. World is a selfish place to live in, and standing up for yourself is one of the most effective lessons you can learn.

If the person still suggests rescheduling, ask them to give a time within the slots you are free in. Before the call, 1/2 hour before, Just check in, if they would be joining

The easiest solution to timezone problems is having the meeting scheduled in teams/meet/zoom and keeping email reminders setup so that there is visibility. If they don't show, it is not your concern to reschedule the meeting for later. Unless you are top up in the company chain, you have no obligation to reschedule the meeting. It should fall on them. Raise it as a blocker to your immediate manager or lead and let them deal with it.

It is ok to be flexible in meeting timeslots, but it is not ok to be flexible to make impromptu changes at the last minute. Stand your ground and achieve the work life balance you want. No one is going to give it to you, you need to make it.

lol I don’t turn respond to calls scheduled at absurd hours. That should make them understand. I can’t be working 24/7

You can inform same in your daily stand up. Your scrum master will handle it .

Copy your manager as optional attende in the invitation. And if this happens again let them know of whats happening. They should sort it out if this happens again. Keep Cool nonetheless.

Why u care a lot do not do any thing or or or

you can send a invite and take your L1 and in next call you can invite your L1 and his L1 as well, Than he will come daily and record a call so atleast both L's can see and you have digital evidence as well
