My manager gave us two options.

30 mins standup everyday+ jira he'll update himself
Jira update by everyone+ twice a week standup for just 15 mins.

If people pick option 2 and don't follow it, he warned that he will start doing option 1. He did do it once. Since then, people have been doing it regularly as they hate standups.
