Joined the wrong company

Have you been in such a situation where you joined a 'high growth, super fast' organisation and 1 week into, you know you made a mistake.

Thinking you should give the company a chance, it's more than a year and you have not moved. Your mental and physical health have started taking a toll.

Has it happened with you? How did you break free?

Took a paycut to join a super hyped tech company from an earlier R&D job.....went into depression because the manager was always concerned about timein and timeout and always shot down ideas because he didn't want risks or new initiatives.....turned about my job was to handle tickets....and manager was from a contact center...and then it added up.... It took an year to quit because I had a few things happening in my personal life .....

Lesson learnt to not take pay cut for any role or tech promised regardless of my preference.. and not for new job regardless how bored you are in the current job ... If you are able to crack the interview catching up to new things should not be a problem

Interestingly during by job search when a head hunter called me he was able to reiterate exactly the above reason himself for my quitting the job ...Seems he was a external recruiter earlier to this company and he was hiring tech support people for the open positions but leadership changed and wanted tier 1 technologist for the company....and found people like me

Cracking the interview is a problem. Answering why do you want to leave so early is a task. Also can't risk being honest, even with third party recruiters

Had joined a startup after leaving another, realized it was worse off in terms of culture than the previous one, was anyways applying and luckily got an interview, left it in 1 month and joined another startup at a higher pay

Been there, done that. Took a step back in terms of role and designation in a bigger org. Got promoted in 9 months. Still lagging behind the market pay by a margin but I'm happy with what i do right now. Plus, the first hand experience of getting screwed like this teaches you a lot, a lot.
