Indian startup reporting has stooped to new lows. The Ken which I once thought had deep analysis has now become the ScoopWhoop of startup ecosystem.

Can you shed more context. Was a subscriber earlier, then stopped it, just because I shifted jobs and new company doesn't pay for it.

What have they been doing?

Either provide context or else this post is paid for by Ken's rivals.

Quality of reporting has come down significantly, who by the way are Ken’s rivals. I feel equally bad for Morning Context

What do you think should be done differently to improve the quality of reportage? If you could list the top five things.

DancingBurrito
  1. More research, data backed opinions
  2. Understand the optimism of founders, everyone understands startups are high risk, however Ken could use a little optimism from the VC world
  3. Dramatic critical opinions without solid foundations, refer to their Digi Yatra, BJP E Pharmacy Manifesto, Patanjali Ads debacle, all trending hastags over deep content.
  4. Praveen’s take on Swiggy’s experiment was a useless bullshit take. No glory to something of his experience.
  5. Take on Zerope, again, 0 points to take on something which hasn’t yet happened fully. Just that Ashneer is a hot trending topic.

Too many startup news portals

Do any of you also think that there are like too many portals reporting on startups and many of theirs subscriptions are like the most expensive in news category overall.
