I have a strained relationship with my parents. Have cut ties with my mom. Dad too almost. I do miss the times when I didn't see their reality and was in a safe bubble. Maturity sometimes hurts.

Try to keep visiting more frequently now that they and I are getting older and I am able to afford flight tickets to my hometown more frequently than before. But I think more than we need them, they need us more and it's good to keep visiting them once in a while as much as possible. The amount of time we're going to spend with them is astonishingly less after we reach 25 years of age.

Having lost my dad 2 months ago, I only wish I had spent more time with him. I miss him so much. Try to visit parents if you have a good relationship with them. Don't compromise those visits for a better life. You'll always have a better life if you are working hard enough. Spend time with parents is also part of a better life. Nothing comes near when you see two of your parents alive and well. If you're really faraway, plan long visits so that you can save money and spend enough time parents. If you miss your parents, make that damn video call and talk about every little thing happened in your life and ask about theirs.

Guilt of staying away from ageing parents

It's for the people who stay away from their parents for work.

How do you deal with this guilt of leaving your parents behind when they need you the most? Also, if you have done something regarding this, please mention.

You dont have to spend to build assets. You can invest in Equity or MF and they are assets too.
