How do you people make so much in your 20s?
You all might obviously guess that I'm speaking about the other two posts in which each of them in their early 20s making 50+ LPA and 70+ LPA respectively.
Honestly curious, how do these guys get paid so much? I feel like salaries in IT industry are heavily inflated.
I'm from EEE background, trying so hard to find a job in Data field. I've previously worked in my field for 3 years, but the growth seemed pretty less in the long run, hence the switch.
Finding a job as a fresher (in IT industry) is so hard man. I'm mainly looking for the startups.
They either ask for experience, or the pay is very similar to what I made previously in my field. (which is <10 LPA).
Above all, I'm not even getting responses from companies for my applications.
So yeah, how do people in their 20s make so much in the IT industry? Is it only FAANGand big corps or applicable to startups as well (like unicorns etc)???

Remote US based startups pay a lot :)

how do you land them as a fresher? I recently got rejected by one in 2nd round. Overall I applied for 30+ companies (both Indian and US), only 4 responded me and 1 called for an interview.

It’s definitely possible, freelancing, consultant, multiple companies. It’ll be hard works and long hours and weekends as well, but should pay at least 50L. take for example 25L in a job as salary. Freelancing projects, you can easily get 1-1.5L/month. So that becomes another 25L. And then moreover you can be a consultant for another company, that should pay 10-15L. grind like this for 8-10 years, now you have enough money to retire :)

Selection Bias

Agreed. But I do see a lot of people making 25-50LPA easily before their 30s.

Yeah In my company a software engineer freshers salary starts at 25 LPA

Sometimes I feel these guys add their esops and tell their salaries

Here is my two cent advise on how to overcome this.
- Keep reading more technologies
- Apply for all software jobs
- Take up anything that is fine with you and offers you a technical role, even if it means same or lesser salary compared to your present salary
- Ensure you build solid experience of a year or 1.5 yrs and then switch. This time you can garner a better salary.
Word is advise dont get carried away by others salary. It won't help you much

Factor 1: 95% of such people are from tier 1-2 colleges Factor 2: mostly from CS branches

Inki salary dekh k toh Sundar Pichai bhi sochta hoga SDE hi ban jaun

While most people who start making very good money early on mostly come from top tier colleges and work in MAANG, that's not the case with all. There are many brilliant people who come from average colleges working in start-ups or other big companies and earn a lot, too.
