Congratulations! Few challenges you’ll need to think about:
- Does your partner have H1 as well? If not, you might be looking at living with 1 income till they get the visa. Which might take a few years.
- Consultancies can take 20% of your monthly pay check, so you’ll have to figure if that’s worth it.
- Many consultancies don’t give you leaves or health insurance. Something to consider if there are ongoing health concerns.
But if these are not big issues, you will be able to work for 6 years at least, in the long term you can definitely figure things out.
I was considering a similar option but decided not to go for personal reasons. So my 2 cents - go for it. If you are unhappy there you can always return, no big deal. But getting the H1 is rare. So try it out.
