Great companies to work for as a PM
What are some of the great companies to work for as a starting PM post MBA in India. I think in many of companies role of PM is not properly defined and it caters to borderline project management.

So there are primarily 2 types of product roles in the market -
B2C : here most of the frontend roles are pure play PM roles, where you are responsible for a metric such as user growth, retention etc. ex - Flipkart, Blinkit, Zomato, Zynga, Amazon, Dream11, Myntra, MMT, Ajio etc. That being said some of the roles here could be backend/platform where the role would be majorly product/program management
B2B/SaaS : here most of the roles are primarily mix of product/program/project ex being Atlassian, MS, Salesforce, Intuit, Directi etc. That being said some of the products in these companies could be consumer facing and the role here would be pure play Product management.

Consumer facing or not doesn't determine if a role is pure play product or not.
If you are able to own a problem statements which make an impact to business/customers and enable decision making to solve them through product changes, you are doing a pure play product management role.

I am reading very often that the craze around product management is too much and this career is not worth the hype. Adding on to that it has huge supply of PMs and many of PMs are underpaid. Is it true?

Indian. I am a SDE (backend) currently. ~2 yrs exp. 16 LPA and I work 40-50 hrs a week. I like where I am, but I am not feeling the zeal for tech anymore. Probably will do a MBA down the line (thinking abroad, not sure)
