MBA to climb the ladder as a PM

Currently an APM in B2B from tier 1 college. CTC: 21 LPA Exp: ~2 yrs

Should I go for an MBA? If yes, then:

  • Indian MBA vs Abroad
  • 1 year vs 2 year

Goal is to progress rapidly in my career and get a stable job with good pay and WLB in a reputed company. Finally retire in 15-20 years from now with a hefty corpus.

Definitely, Indian PM ecosystem is nascent. Its prominent role in US startups but even there the competition is top notch. The best of the best in US MBA is opting for PM roles over consulting. So be prepared for that.

One good thing is there are very few B2B PM, you can hone and sharpen your art.

You are smart enough to decide 1 vs 2 but be aware that is a election year, so there will be rampant changes to Immigration policies especially with Trump being the favourite.

You are right. Only way to get into MAANG or any org with >5k employees, where you will get to do real product management as close to what's preached in INSPIRED.
