Finally I have started therapy

Little background about myself. I am M in my early 30s, married with no kids yet. Professionally, I run a bootstrapped profitable business for 6+ years now.

Since last 2-3 years I started having constant anxiety of health, work & family. I couldn't sleep nights constantly fearing the unknown & losing everything. With an increase in personal wealth, my mental health took a toll coz there is a constant internal & external pressure to maintain it & grow (still not recovered yet). Though I have no personal life problems, dad has a history of depression & takes medication for years. I didn't feel depressed hence avoided the medication but a friend suggested taking therapy, so here I am :)

It's been 6-7 sessions & the situation has not improved but I understood a lot about the coping mechanism & perspective. It just changed my perspective towards work, stress, family & more. Even personal habits coz sleep was one of the big issues I brought up with the counsellor.

10/10 recommend going for therapy.

[Also, have not mentioned all my issues here as I wanted to keep it short. Dm if you are struggling & need someone to talk to]

That's great to hear buddy, hope you keep recovering well.

This is what I try and tell others as well, more money doesn't always solve problems. Managing and growing it is also a big responsibility, especially as a founder.

It will take a year or so before you really internalise and practice all your learnings from therapy but it'll happen. Have patience and hang in there 😊

Thank you! Yes, working on myself, one day at a time :)

Curious to know, do you have strict working hours for yourself? Or do you also work overtime like most founders.

There is resolution in homeopathy. But same thing. You won't be able to find good doctors. And most of them will make you worse.

Have no clue about homeopathy. As a practice, I don't personally believe in homeopathy so I am not the right person to comment.

Yes I know. Most people know nothing about it. But it helps address phobias, depressions, manias. And i know because i am learning it since 8 years with the help of a doctor. And i have seen people getting cured from diseases which are not cured by conventional methods. But it's difficult to find a good doctor. They are not practicing properly hence they are not delivering those kinds of results which are actually possible by practising property homeopathy

I have heard 5 out of 100 therapists are good. How did you find the good one? Btw kudos to you for taking steps towards anxiety

I had taken 1 online before and didn't like her + online session sucked for me. So I just went to one of the mental health companies & tried a counsellor from there. I didn't go with the intention of judging the counsellor initially & went with the flow. Surprisingly, she is good & has suggested to reduce the frequency (once a month maybe) coz i am doing better.

Heard journaling helps. Did you tried that?

I tried briefly but couldn't maintain the consistent of doing it daily.

Good to hear that brother 😊. Just know one thing (pretty sure you already do, but just reiterating again).

Like you mentioned, if you have made a decent financial structure for you... please case about mental and physical health and make it your top priority.

You know you can always make more money than what you already are, but one illness or health issue and things can go bonkers.

I understand career ka pressure and all but you have done well already there, now less efforts and time there and more for just you and family.

All the best😊

100% with you. Yes, slowing down & improving my physical & mental health. This year is just to sit tight & improve on these aspects hence the therapy.

I have a history of anxiety after my papa passed away in 2020. Horrible experience with panic attacks, tachycardia, was in awful mental state. Talking to people helped, the unknown though. I was isolating myself subconsciously and then gradually joined telegram groups and talked about mental health anonymously. What helped the most is reciting Hanuman Chalisa and meditation. I hope you feel better soon :)

Hey, first of all so sorry to hear about your loss. Glad to hear you are doing well. If reciting hanuman chalisa & meditation worked well for you, please keep at it. I am sure you will do great :)

Started my therapy earlier this year and 100 percent recommend it to everyone(even if you think you seem alright). You will tend to understand yourself better and can empathize with others
