Do you think being from IIT matters after 4 years of experience
I was discussing with a friend who is not from IIT and he was mentioning that being from IIT/IIM gives you and edge throughout your career. I on the other hand think that after a decent years of experience, your works speaks for itself

It certainly opens lots of doors

Those first 4 years will decide their later trajectory. Everything leads to the next thing. So yeah, IIT gives you that head start and edge which is a gift that keeps on giving.
IIT also gives you a solid alumni network and you are only as good as your peer set. Enuf said - it’s without a doubt a brand that gives lasting value unless the person is a dud professionally and socially

Depends on the role. Research oriented roles like in Machine Learning would give preference to IIT/IISc grads.

It matters in terms of what others think of you. Bias doesn't go away regardless of how smart or dumb you actually are.

It matters every time

Sour grapes from a distance afar ? :P

Always matter :(
