Credit card spam calls
Has anybody also observed that the number of spam calls for credit card, pre approved loans increased exponentially?
I wanted to figure out the root cause of this.
I remember one of my friends asking me to download ONE Score app to check my credit score, around 5-6 months ago and since then, on an average there are 4-5 calls daily. Not saying this definitely was the root cause but just a speculation.
Just wanted to know what others feel regarding this and any steps they took to mitigate this.

Government should do something about this. Our private data is getting sold in open market and that is why we have started receiving so many cold calls. It is not that you would receive calls from 2-3 companies only, there is a pattern.
We need a sarkari equivalent of Truecaller. The govmint has our Aadhar info. They can make sure the network providers validate every single call and use it kinda like a Truecaller screener.
I don’t think it’s OneScore. They’ll send you annoying ads about Onecard, but this isn’t them. Ever used paisabazaar? That’s a honeypot for these guys. Then there’s Paytm.
I remember using BankBazaar, I am getting calls from them as well.
Same guys! Both share the same parent company, and that’d explain it.
Have used Onescore , have had people I know use them . Never got spam calls.
They have their own Credit Card product, I don't think it makes sense for them to sell data to competitors.
Block number. I do that religiously. Helps a lot.
Opposite for me, the no of calls for loans and credit cards has been reduced a lot lately. Not sure what exactly transpired it, but i would religiously block anyone that Truecaller suggested as spam
Seems like I hadn’t updated the spam list in Truecaller(recently shift from android to ios and the process of spam call blocking is a bit weird), I have to manually update the Spam list once every few days.
