Booked a wrong flight

I was suppose to go for an physical interview from pune to delhi. I had to book a round trip for 15th april from pune to delhi and 16th april from delhi to pune.

I got a call just 15 days prior and I have never travelled by plane earlier, so it would have been my first time. I got a call on 31st march and I was booking on 1st april. Wanted to travel via plane as it would have saved me a lot of time in travelling as, I couldn't afford getting back late.

I checked several ticketing websites, and was looking for which was showing the minimum. I checked skyscanner, goibibo, ixigo, mmt and several others.

Since Goibibo was showing the lowest I went ahead and booked a flight. The catch: was that it had the default date as 15th June auto selected and showed the prices accordingly. Since I was travelling on the 15th as well I thought I have selected the right date and the rates are as per 15th april.

Then at the day of travel, in the morning while checking for web check in I realised I booked the wrong flight. I had no other option than to book another one at that time.

I came back from delhi today early morning, and now am looking how I can cancel the 15th june round trip. The flight company indigo in this case doesn't allow cancellation from their end as I booked from goibibo.

I didn't take the easy cancellation feature that they provided while booking as it was confirm I need to go. Also I read a lot of articles today that the companies don't easily refund the money until there's life and death situation even if the customer provides a medical certificate of unfit to travel.

I booked for 11700 round trip now after cancellation I am only able to get4300 back.

This is a big big lesson for future me. But atm I really need a lot of help to get the maximum amount as refund, I can arrange medical bills and unfit to travel certificate.

The I am doing the cancellation very early it won't be very difficult for the company to resell the ticket. Or is ther a way that I can resell it to someone who wishes to travel.

Need help, cnlan someone guide me how to tackle this situation.
