Are we independent?
Hi folks,
Hope you all are enjoying your holiday.
I had this typical question this morning contemplating Are we free?
Govt is for rich , bureaucrats are corrupt to the core , system is failed , education is a meme , women safety has gone to gutters , youth are jobless , homeless and aimless.
What are we celebrating today?

We are celebrating Amrit Kaal

We are just celebrating what our govt is trying to show us .
Election ki tayyari bhi to karni hain na guyz!!

The situation is not ideal. We have to choose between the worst and bad. But still I have hope for this country. At least I want to contribute as much as possible to make our Country great.

How are you contributing?
Muh maange tax deke and in return getting crushed like wheat?

I want to contribute directly not indirectly by giving taxes. I haven't done anything yet to contribute directly but I want to.
For now I don't really know which path I will take:

NGO
Business
But yeah I will not lose hope.

We’ve all had those thoughts :/

Yes we have . But now these are highly frequent.
Social Media , News, everywhere . What is the positivity left in this country now.

You are talking like churchill lol.

I guess , I have lost my optimism about this country 🥲

To answer your question in one word - No.
We were never Independent and won't ever be.
Nothing will change in this country, I have my full bets on that. Don't call it pessimism but it's the truth.
From education, pollution, population, water issues, corruption, reservation and many more.
Are there any of these which have improved after independence?
The list is endless

Cost of Freedom
While we complain and whine about all things wrong with our country, which is well within our rights to do so, we also need to acknowledge the cost others paid to get us this freedom.

Great post. People should be India first and not religion first

Why do we celebrate ourselves on our birthday?
OK hear me out. Our birthday is day we got introduced to this world, no work no effort on our end. Our mothers pushed us out after 9 months. Then why do we celebrate and take gifts when we didn't really do anything

[Thread] Happy Independence Day! 🇮🇳 How far have we come since you were born?
I’ll start first, Within my lifetime, we sent a spacecraft to the moon. We also succeeded in our Mars mission on the first try.
There are seldom moments like such that remind us that we are one country.
We are a force to be reckoned ...
