Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Lead Platform Engineer with a strong background in platform development and a proven ability to lead technology design and engineering teams. In this role, you will own module design, drive the implementation of platform solutions, and mentor a talented team of engineers, ensuring our cloud management platform remains robust and at the forefront of industry trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of robust, scalable platform modules, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical best practices.
- Spearhead the implementation of platform solutions in collaboration with platform engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Mentor and guide a team of engineers, fostering continuous learning and professional growth.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance platform functionality and user experience.
- Ensure platform reliability and security through comprehensive testing and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define the technical strategy and objectives for the platform engineering team.
What We Look For
Skills:
- Expertise in Python programming with a strong foundation in writing clean, efficient, and scalable code.
- Proven experience in serverless application development, microservices design, and event-driven architectures.
- Demonstrated ability in building and shipping high-quality SaaS platforms on AWS, including familiarity with services such as Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a track record of optimizing complex systems for efficiency and scalability.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with prior experience mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
Qualifications
- Required Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in Software or Platform Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years in roles directly relevant to platform development and team leadership.
- At least 4 years of experience in developing applications with Python.
- A minimum of 3 years in serverless application development.
- At least 3 years in building event-driven architectures.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Bonus Points:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer, or related cloud development certifications.
- Experience with the AWS Boto3 SDK for Python.
- Familiarity with other cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
