Your take on news about companies moving to Gujarat from Mumbai.

  1. Good for Mumbai because the city can breathe.
  2. Can the cities build a cosmopolitan culture like Mumbai? Will people from Mumbai move?
  3. Bad news for Mumbai's economy.
  4. Such news is common before the election season.
  5. It's all a ploy from the ruling government to prop up Gujarat as the hub of everything.

Pune - Navi Mumbai - Mumbai - Vapi - Surat - Vadodara - Ahmedabad belt will be the pearl delta of India. Insane development across. If Gujarat government reduces prohibition, can even attract more investment.

i think it'll fade away in sometime. Companies will soon realise that they're not getting the same talent as Mumbai/Pune. Also the blue collar cluster is not stable in Gujarat. you can do all tax/regulations related savings but it's hard to do any scalable/innovative work in Gujarat. (that's just from the POV of IT or Logistics or service industry... in some industries for example chemical or spare parts manufacturers.. it's already thriving)

Atleast in Ahmedabad there's very less % of gujju blue collar folks, majority are migrant from MP-UP-RJ, they're kinda under productive and often lazy.

You have IT in Bangalore Hyderabad Chennai and Pune. Why should finance just be Mumbai? Mumbai needs a breather too! The city has been the backbone for decades now.. but sadly infrastructure and real estate is terrible in Mumbai now. High time other options come up.

Mumbai does not have space left anymore, good for everyone around in my opinion. The main hub will still be Mumbai though.

Most of the diamond industry is moving to Surat. A lot of banks will move to Gandhinagar (GIFT city).

A lot of IT companies have moved to Ahmedabad.

But most company headquarters will remain in Mumbai.

I think it would be a good idea to have satellite campuses in Gujarat. Talent in Gujarat can be fetched much cheaper than Mumbai. Mumbai, may however, still have a lot of head offices due to the connectivity advantage.

There's few it parks upcoming in pipeline for west Ahmedabad, it's developing at a good pace, eventually tech industry should blossom here,

Ahmedabad already has Pharma, Industrial chemicals, Textiles & Metal fabrication factories in vicinity.

Mumbai is very diverse. Good for everyone. Gujrat is kindof narrow-minded. I don't see top talent moving there at all. Gujrat itself is a talent hub, so atleast the companies moving there won't run short of it
