Worth waiting for right offer (100% hike with remote)
I was laid off on 7th Sep and my garden leave was till 29th Sep. I got average severance package and I was in panic situation for almost 2 weeks.
I gave interviews for 12 targeted position (luckily got till last rounds for all positions and got total 5 offers. 2 offers felt like being exploited, employers were milking my layoff situation and offered 10%-15%. I took a call to reject them and explore further. Got 3 offers in first week of Jan, these were worth considering. Yes I did wait for 4 months to see such favourable offers. One with 15% hile and relocation, second with 60k Euro and move to Europe and third offer with 100% hike with remote. It was a no brainer and I closed on the one with Remote and 100% hike.
Dont just rush to close on anything which comes first, assess the future and close on the decent or best one according to ur needs.
For those who were laid-off recently and looking for opportunities I would say keep faith market is opening and positions are getting listed. You will get something good soon.

Damn you man! Something I am manifesting 🤞
Congratulations on new role! Do share your learnings through the journey

I am preparing a doc, this will have a complete journey of Do’s and Dont’s. I am also planning to put a YT video for this.

@Beep new career counsellor in making

What's your new compensation?

Aisi baatein batayi nahi jati, nazar lag jati hai 😂

Hum toh aapko jaante hi nahi, kya hi nazar lagegi. Sharing your comp anonymously would only help the community know what the pay is like these days so they can negotiate better.

What role? Engineering or non engineering?

Not eng, I am from CX team.

Thanks bro I am a fresher of 23 grad... Still hoping to get something good mid 2024...some tips for a fresher bro?

When did you get the joining for Accenture?

As I said in one of the comments, I am not trying to become a career counsellor. I can just give tips of applying for positions of your domain, use AI tools to crack ATS, reach-out to recruiters on linkedin and lastly use YT for learning new ways to find jobs,/improve CV/prepare for Interviews

I feel with posts like these, people should realise that sabka apna apna hota hai. Sometimes things work out, sometimes they don't. For OP, they worked out, doesn't mean it will for you as well. Everyone needs to assess their situation and risk taking capability. This is not a great job market and being out of a job for so long can be emotionally/mentally/financially taxing for many.

I would agree with this as in my case I got what I prepared for. I also got interviews for Amazon and Microsoft post I accepted this offer. For my field the positions have started flooding from Jan.

What post customer success manager?

How did you know about Europe opening and apply for them? I had heard most of them have sponsoring issue and throw us out in screening process?

I applied to the positions in European countries with labour shortage. Specially with emerging start-ups and expanding globally. Trust me companies in countries like Poland, Netherland, Estonia are willing to sponsor skilled people from other countries and their Government is also inclined towards it.

How can we get to know about these specific openings? Is there a website?

I absolutely agree with you. I made this mistake of joining an absolute shit of a company (services based into banking/loyalty programs). I had a psycho manager who didn’t know jack shit but had a senior title. I lasted only a few months. This is the absolute worst workplace ever in my life.
Never accept an offer in a hurry, it’s best to wait for some time and accept what meets your standards!

TC or GTFO

Can’t conclude what’s the intention, I am assuming this is a mixed feeling from you.

Damn…this is insane. You must be good at what you do.

I believe its all luck and timing. I did best as per my standard and at times it didn’t truen put well however this time everything got clubbed as a good juicy fruit. Dene wala jab bhi deta, deta chappar faad ke.
Still in this tough market, you are able to convert so many calls. Thats insane. All the best

Please do share the link for your new post here as well. Would love to read.
