Worst Ride Experience with Uber – Never Again.

Since it was raining today, I decided to book an Uber Auto instead of taking my bike, thinking it would be a safer and more convenient option. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a complete nightmare—far worse than just riding in the rain.

First, the driver asked me to walk to the main road to board the auto. Once I shared the OTP and the trip started, he said, “Tell me the fastest route, because if this auto stops, it won’t start again.” I was stunned—what kind of vehicle was this?

I told him to just follow the app’s route, which was already showing the best way. But shortly into the ride, the auto suddenly broke down in the middle of the road—even though there was no flooding or water. He casually said, “Now nothing can be done,” and ended the trip on the spot.

Then he demanded I pay for the incomplete ride and told me to get out. When I refused, he started yelling at me.

There I was—stranded in the rain, soaked, with no other option. Since my office was just 2–3 km away, no other Uber or Ola driver would accept the ride due to the low fare. I kept checking for alternatives, but nothing was available. The driver stood nearby, smirking the whole time.

Eventually, I had to take a half-day leave from work, return home drenched, change my clothes, and somehow make it back to the office—all because of Uber’s failure to ensure basic reliability.

The worst part? When I told the driver I would file a complaint, he laughed and said: “You can’t do anything. At most, they’ll block my Uber ID. I can get a new one using someone else’s details for just ₹200.”

That moment said everything about the lack of accountability in the system.

I’m genuinely grateful to the kind stranger who gave me a lift part of the way, so I could finally find an option to get home and clean up before trying again.

But after this experience, I’ve decided: ✅ I’m sharing this publicly. 🚫 I will never use Uber again.

That’s worst nightmare, try cab instead , uber and Ola doesn’t care if you avoid them, we had need to travel and we are more depend on them, so think before neglecting the app, hope you won’t get this issue next time.

The real problem is our dependency on them, it gives them the power to treat us poorly. I’ve made up my mind: I won’t rely on these ridiculous companies anymore.

Yes we are depend on them, here only way to avoid them is owning a car or having driver with own car. Else you need to have a proper contact of a driver who can give better experience
