Why doesn’t Mumbai have any FAANG jobs?

Visited Mumbai recently and loved the vibe of the city and the growing infra. Truly feels like a global megacity with diverse set of people, and also very safe and welcoming.

It’s disappointing that Mumbai does not have any opportunities for high paying SWE roles.

Why is there no bigtech/FAANG jobs in Mumbai? Does anyone has inside scoope on any offices opening up there?

jobs go to places where talent is abundant. am not dissing mumbai, it’s a great place with amazing people and culture. just that cities like bengaluru, delhi and hyderabad seem to have taken a larger share of jobs in FAANG due to high availability of talent. the ken web had a very good podcast on this topic. do listen to understand more.

Is tech literally dead in Mumbai?

Basically the title!

There are far too less dev opportunities for Senior positions (12+ YoE) with competative salary in Mumbai when compared with other cities like Pune, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
