Why are people doing blue collared jobs seems to be more happy and content than the ones doing white collared jobs
This is just my observation and i am not generalising. I have observed this very often in bangalore.

People who are running tea stalls, cigaratte shop, auto drivers, small tiffin shops seems to be more happy and content.
-
On the other side, the white collared people seems to be worried, frustated. Let it be the people who are waiting for their office cabs, people who are driving their own cars. I cannot see a single smiling face.
If we check the life conditions, those are far better for them, they live in a better place, wear better clothes, eat at good restaurants, have good mobile phones, ac car but still i could feel something is missing

Time is in their control. They dont run against it every day.
For white collared techies, our time is controlled by someone else.

Well said

Could not have been a better reply. Yes we are racing against time. Makes us anxious, frustrated, and hopeless most of the time. Except our wit in wit out belgian wheat beer time

The grass always "seems" greener on the other side.

Indeed

Corporate jobs are no longer the same as they used to be 10 years ago or so. It has become a dog eat dog with no focus on employee motivation, team work. Everyone is in it for money. Everyone speaks the same lingo and puts up a facade. Leadership is about how much politics you can play and worst is HR. I still don't know what they do besides rangoli and diwali celebrations. Only time I see them do something is attend annual performance review to share their two cents literally.

Happiness does not come with the colour of your collar, happiness comes from being content and being content comes from self not from others. It is all inside. Think about it lil homie.

My dad never did a job. He has repaired mobile phones. Medical equipments. Then pivoted to naturopathy and acupressure. Now he treats patients and randomly does stuff like numerology and astrology for fun. He is 62 now and I am forcing him to retire but he won't. Some months he made lakhs some months no profit no loss. But he was never truly stressed as I was. He lived and enjoyed truly.

Own ventures or business gives more peace for them even though there is no guarantees income every month. But they will say we have a fixed income and no need of worrying about it.
They deal with police, local goons, local bodies for licences etc. that we do not have to. All jobs have its own problems and merits.
But being happy depends completely on oneself

Not all, but many. They know their wages wont improve if they work hard. They dont care about appraisals and putting in late hours. They are just happy with what they have. You can also be like that. Just do bare minimum work that you don't get fired and keep switching companies to get hike. Even I observed that in hyderabad. Blue collar workers who get around 15 to 30k just chill with what they get and enjoy in their own way.

Perhaps it's because white collared are overly ambitious of their career and life and hence in constant stress/anxiety over future
Blue collar folks don't have very high aspirations from their job/business. They just want enough to sustain in life

This sounds to be closer to real reason.

What is happiness actually? Whoever is working doesn't seem to be happy.
Seen to me it's myth.. everyone is struggling, in this time of kalyug no one seems to be happy 😁
