Why are people crying over the Karnataka Reservation Bill ?

why don't you understand that Bangalore has become one of the worse cities to live in because of all the outsiders and the companies.

Locals just want to protect their cities, i don't see any issue with that.

Companies will just have to relocate to other cities which is a welcome move.

I don't think forcing reservations is the best way to protect the city. Rather the permits for making tech parks and offices should get stricter. Most of the construction has probably violated a lot of laws but the government still allowed it to happen. Outsiders haven't ruined your city, rather your corrupt and incompetent ministers haven't been doing their job properly, none of whom are outsiders.

Wow so rather than working on improving the infra, you dickheads will support a regressive mandate? Btw keep dreaming, SC and HC have already sick laws in the past which was brought by the state govt of Haryana, Jharkhand and Maharashtra. So your Siddu can’t do shit!!

Since the parliament is in delhi,so from now on all the ministers in lok sabha should be from delhi and should only talk in hindi. How about this as a law?

good law, should be implemented

ā€œOutsidersā€ ; is it a separate country ? 50 percent of the tax I pay goes to the state (Which computed to 11L last FY just to state government, and what did I get in return ?). Rather than being grateful for the top talent from across the country who is brining in the surplus revenue to state just stick to brain dead rhetoric and split the country to 30 odd smaller ones.

Building systems is hard putting bandaids and appeasement to avg audience (IQ bell curve) is easy.

Why not setup and fund upskilling programs for local folks.

Really surprised at the fact that how many people call foul on the rest of the Indians moving across the country for work! Kind of funny how I used to tell friends abroad about systemic discrimination there while we're treated as outsiders within the confines of our own country.

What's more, I saw some newly minted graduate on X yesterday bashing people on comments and talking about how Bangalore will be thriving with start-ups and jobs if every so-called migrant person leaves! To think someone like that is going to work at Morgan Stanley, it just makes it even sadder for others because that's the mindset and environment she will bring into the workspace.

Who do we think is starting up in reality over here? We have over 25k start-ups and a good majority of them are from people who came to work here from different states and are now building on their own. What's more even folks who've moved base from the US setup shop here not because of benefits, but purely because a meritocratic talent density exists here. (Meritocracy being the operative word here!)

In the current schema, companies and GCCs move where there is talent supply. If supply ceases, so does demand for setting up shop here in Bangalore!

All this does is showcase the rest of the world that we still aren't a conducive place to conduct business at! And I am not kidding when I say this, people doing Indian investment are absolutely watching this and bringing this up constantly...

Your city is worse, because you dont question unplanned development.

Well i hope it passes and companies move to Delhi NCR or some other cities, we wont be harrassed by kannada goons and traffic, plus Delhi has many more things to do than going to bars.

Btw, I thought we were part of India and not outsiders. Remember, it is the lack of same "outsiders" during covid brought fianancial difficulties to very same local.

I think this is a huge opportunity for other states and cities to welcome these companies who wish to relocate their offices to other cities, help them set up their offices and attract employees, win-win for all except BLR. I am not from BLR.

True that..also in the long run, it's better this way,..jobs and companies should be spread out evenly so that the resources are not skewed towards one city...the city has been bled dry.

Bengaluru - An Attitude Check

Keeping my biases aside, I've seen 2 sides of the entire people's behaviour and culture:

  1. Locals (folks from the city/state) are known to refer to the ones from other states as "outsiders" or "immigrants". We have seen some extreme ca...
