What's the problem in marrying for money?

A common friend of mine expressed his wish to give this a new start. He comes from a wealthy family, himself has made good fortune. Only thing we don't really hit off in the textbook sense, but then again we haven’t spoken much really

The one I like hardly cares to respond

So why not take this offer?

There is nothing wrong with it. Gold diggers have existed since time immemorial.

Money can't replace emotional investment. What if his dreams, goals, expectations from partner are different? What if he feels superior and has self entitlement coz of money? How will you reach a middle ground during arguments or what if he expects you to sacrifice each time coz of money?
What if you create a dysfunctional family where everyday is toxic as hell? Think about the children you will raise.
Such marriages usually end up as platonic with zero emotional connection. Both partners try to find solace in materialistic things and Eventually cheating on each other to gain missing emotional support .
Money can be an important factor but not the basis to marry.

Do you have any regrets?

It can be anything related to not doing something you always wanted to but never did, a mistake you realize you shouldn’t have made, or feelings of not being successful enough. Feel free to share your thoughts.
