What’s the one brutal truth you wish you knew before your first startup?

Let's be real, we all fell for the "we are a family" and "hyper-growth" BS in our early 20s.

I joined my first startup thinking I'd build the next big thing. Reality? "Fast-paced environment" just means doing the job of 3 people for an 8 LPA CTC.

And don't even get me started on ESOPs. It's literally Monopoly money founders use to trap you while they secure their own bags. No weekends, hair loss at 24, and founders who think 2 AM Slack pings are a flex.

What is the ONE thing you wish someone told you before you drank the startup Kool-Aid? Spill it.

Best time to join a start up is when the start up has begun to scale. Usually around the tine when the name first appears in advta

Second best time to join - is at the senior role. You have decade+ years of oppression xp. They hire you to scale up their business. You do the mail forwarding.
