What’s a non technical technical role?

I’m an engineer by graduation, but I ended up working at Bain and got laid off last year. Maybe, consulting isn’t the right industry for me, but I’m looking for something that’s not as technical as a core engg or an IT job, but also not as non technical as Human Resources (I don’t mean to demean HR, but this is based on my perception). What would be the right kind of job for me?
