Made 3 jumps in my career : 1st one was actual a -30% jump. But I took this plunge as I was bored with my comfy consulting job where I wasn’t motivated to do anything, for a break into product management in a start up (founding team) in an area which I was passionate about. I was young and wanted to do something which was exciting and set me up for success later. I also got 100% of my pay as esops which became junk as the start up shut shop in 2 years. 2nd one was after the start up shut shop. But because of my experience, I easily got an offer at a series B start up in the same domain, at a hike of 90%. 3rd jump was in a more mature / international company in the same domain , as an SPM with 70% hike as by now I had expertise in both the craft as well as the domain

Real grapeviner ...

Don’t know if that’s supposed to be good or bad 😅

Depends, I got 200% hike too but when I was on 3.25LPA 😂
Current market, its great if you get a job with 10-30% hike provided you are around 20-30LPA range

Currently <10LPA - expect 50-60% Currently 10-20 LPA - expect 35-50% Currently 20-30 LPA - expect 30-40% Currently >40 LPA - expect 25-35%

A small correction - if you're < 10, expect a maximum of 100%. I've seen folks go from 8L to 20L, working in finance.
