What is this *hiring on hold* shit after final rounds of interviews
I have been applying to a lot of companies as I'm looking for a change in the domain I'm working with. I have been facing this quite a lot now, where HR reach out to me, schedule interviews, I cross several rounds, and every single time I'm told at the very end that the hiring for this position is now on hold. One organization had me discuss salary and still went ahead to hang me out to dry. One big shot Fintech firm asked me to wait till January for the upcoming round ( the interviewer put me hopes about next round). I just want to know if this is happening with me and a few rare cases or is it extremely common? In such a case, how the fuck am I supposed to avoid this? It is so demotivating... Just had to vent it out.

I agree with this. This has happened to me with 2 companies, I don't want to name the companies because it will ruin the reputation of Myntra and Moneyview. But, I thought this is part of life and staying strong taking this experience into consideration.

You can't avoid it, it happens to everyone. 2 companies did this to me. A company named rattle extended verbal offer for sde role and then said hiring freeze.
Other company was indmoney.
The best thing you can do js name and shame

Companies keep hiring on hold and collect almost 10 to 12 candidates profiles and then select the candidate having less CTC. That's the new hidden policy , got to know from a friend working in HR.

Nowadays Switching jobs very risky. I've seen colleagues receive job offers, resign, and then be told the position is on hold, just a week before onboarding. 🥺

Already dara hua hoon bhai 😭😭

Sach me bro, it's very scary, atleast you should have a couple of offer in hand after putting the paper.

Just happened to me last night.. An upcoming Fintech SAAS company after almost 5 month or discussion.. It is so demotivating.. And irritating.

Your on hold because they are looking for someone who will join immediately or if there's someone they can offer a lesser salary to.

This happens when the project in pipeline for which you were selected gets delayed or cancelled. Dont get demotivated cause you obviously are ready for that job once it comes in your view. Be patient as the current market is not so good and hopefully you'll get that job next year. 🙂

Thanks a lot. That does make some sense. Just that while I was expecting to make the next big move in my career, I fell on my face

Dont worry too much happened with a friend i work with. She cracked the interview at Infosys and they held up the offer and told him he is on the waitlist, as in they will sent the offer letter once they get the approval from their finance department. She stay in there and stay cool 😎

You're getting the replies from these companies. Whereas for me, I don't even get rejection mails. Recently applied in Accenture and after all rounds including an interview last month, I was asked to wait for 10-15 days for the result. My friends who also applied for the same role received rejection mails, but for me I'm still waiting for acceptance or rejection.
I just don't get why these companies don't even care to think about the candidates.

Nobody gives a shit about us, jobseekers are most vulnerable right now. Current organization will treat you like shit, and you wanna look out, these companies treat you like shit
