Can anyone give me a fair idea of the ongoing CS salary in the market? I have 2 years of experience, and I am planning to switch. I just want to be sure of the raise that I deserve. I live in New Delhi, so I know salaries are lower here as compared to Bangalore and Hyderabad. What is the maximum salary that I can get here, in Delhi NCR, as a company secretary? And how much can I get if I shift to Bangalore or Hyderabad? And is it worth it, according to the cost of living and everything? Please share your opinions.
As you said that you have 2 years of experience as a company secretary; in NCR you can get anywhere around 4.5 to 6 LPA. Depending on the size of the organisation and industry, you can get around 7-8 LPA as well. If you switch every 2 to 3 years, you can get around 15 LPA after 8 years of experience. This profession does not pay very well, like IT or other industries.
In Delhi NCR, the average salary of a CS ranges between INR 3.2 LPA and INR 13.7 LPA. The salary range varies from one company to another and in terms of your experience. It also depends on the industry you wish to serve. If you want to apply for the CS position in a completely different industry, you may require some training programs and then you can get the job. However, if you apply for the CS position in Bangalore, the salary would range between INR 3 LPA and INR 18.5 LPA. This is mainly because the cost of living in Bangalore is higher than in Delhi. If you think that the salary that Bangalore company is offering would suffice your monthly expenses including house rent, travel costs, etc, then you can relocate. But, if the money they’re offering is not up to the living standards in the city, then its better to stay in your hometown with less salary.
