What is "not a good culture" according to you?

I have heard people talking about bad culture in a company. I just wanted to know what exactly they mean by not a good culture? Is it micro management or no WLB or something else. Please give some examples and if possible with the company's name.(saw in some recent post on GV that Groww does not a have a good culture. A more detailed example would be much helpful)

  • Work on weekends is expected, without comp off or pay
  • Long hours, especially if not communicated initially or despite having a big team. The last place I worked was notorious for poor planning. We had a lot of folks, big teams who would snooze all day and then wake up at 6 pm and say everything is urgent.
  • Managers who don’t respect your time off and micromanage. And / or scream at you.
  • this one is personal for me, but if the company cannot provide me the flexibility of wfh even under genuine conditions they suck.

  • HR team is spineless and their decisions are not followed by any manager/pod owners
  • Fights and abuses in teams are justified as their passion for the work
