What is "Entrepreneur in Residence"
Came across this recently where someone mentioned that they were an entrepreneur in residence.....what on earth does this mean. What does this entail from a job perspective, what do they do etc. Any VC folks here who can shed light on this ?

Pappa ki kothi me

In the ideal world- dude that makes new projects come alive in 0-1 and hands them over to teams to scale. In the real world - sometimes does well most times fucks up and gives a 0-1 to a team that'll destroy it in a quarter.

Thanks. Definitely have more clarity on this now.

+1 to what @Barbaadeshwar said Typically end up doing 0 to 1 projects end to end vs. Founder's Office (which can be a role without any execution sometimes, only working on Founder's tasks)
Some EIRs at companies like UC I knew a few years back, they mentioned it was a very rewarding role

Ah interesting....

Program Manager role in a new packaging with expectation of 24*7 availability. Forget life, just hustle 101

Very true.

What's the salary CTC being offered these days for this role?
Also, pls help build some traction on this.

A sasta CoS.

You join to work on a project with not enough bandwidth to execute or identify a new opportunity and take it from 0-1. A high pay and equity role due to the min. YOE required and amount of ownership in the role.

Do everything other than cleaning floors, bathrooms and locking the doors at night (may that too)
