What good things happened after you were laid off?

Layoffs are bad I know, but there's always a silver lining Now since that's in the past, we can ponder what was good

Happened to me when I joined my first company as a fresher.

  1. Failed internal training and got laid off.
  2. Everyone in the company mocked me, laughed at me, made fun of me, took advantage of my misery.
  3. My girl left me.
  4. I was shattered as if I lost my ground off my feet.
  5. I studied, prepared myself, cracked 4 consecutive companies and took the worst decision of joining TCS.
  6. My learning and earning went backwards.
  7. Again I studied and upskilled myself, got certified, switched with a good package and doing good work.
  8. Most importantly, I AM HAPPY.
To all who are reading this, never lose hope even if everything is against you. Everything good happens to people as per their time. Have faith, stay honest to yourself and keep hustling. Cheers to all 🙏

I forgot to add something very important... The only people who stayed and supported me through all those difficult times was my FAMILY. Remember they are the only true people you have as your well wisher and I'm forever grateful to them.
Spend every moment with them, value them, love them and cherish them, because they won't be forever around, spend every little time with them as if it was their last moment spending with you.

Started own tech business with a friend. I'm doing this full time. Revenue hasnt reached my past salary level. But I enjoy the real ownership of revenues, costs and everything around it. A new chapter opened in my life. I hope I find enough business to continue this new life. Thanks to the layoff.

Layoffs Pros

Layoff and bouncing back

To all the people who have been laid off recently, don’t get disheartened. I have been laid off thrice and every time, I got a better offer and higher salary. If you have given your 100% and still end up getting laid off the fault is no...

Unpopular Opinion: Please don't cry for work after layoff, talk why you should be hired

I have all the sympathy with people laid off I have been laid off before

Denial just prolongs finding a new role.

Instead of posting how many applications have been turned down, how interviews are not converting Use the same spac...

Layoff severely breaks confidence

I've been laidoff, searching for a job. Had stepped out for a walk and I saw my school teacher crossing the road from the other side. I, being a person who always talks to people, turned my face and sneaked away, not having the confide...
