weirdest shit you guys have seen at work??

I need to know if my workplace is just uniquely cursed or if this happens everywhere because I am still traumatized from what I saw yesterday I walked into the washroom on the third floor and someone was literally taking a client call from inside the stall. Like full on unmuted talking about deployment timelines while you could hear the echo of the bathroom tiles and the flush from the next stall over. I just froze by the sink idk what I was supposed to do. Sneak out? Wash my hands really loudly? Bhai who does this.

But honestly that's not even the craziest thing I've witnessed at this place. Last year there was this guy in the adjacent pod who basically set up a mini kitchen at his desk. I am not exaggerating at all. He had a plug in electric kettle which is fine I guess but then he brought a mini rice cooker. He would literally steam broccoli and boil eggs at 1 PM right next to his monitors. The whole bay smelled like a mix of sulfur and damp socks for an hour every single day. HR had to finally send a passive aggressive mass email about workplace hygiene because nobody wanted to confront him directly.

And don't even get me started on the sleeping arrangements. We had this one senior dev who would just disappear for three hours every afternoon and people thought he was in back to back meetings. Turns out he found a dead zone behind the IT storage room on a different floor and brought a yoga mat from home. Just napping peacefully while the rest of us were running around trying to fix bugs.

Please tell me I'm not the only one surrounded by absolute lunatics. What's the weirdest thing you guys have caught people doing because I feel like I'm losing my mind here.
