Quite fucked up. They're just setting her up for failure. Boeing has done couple of screwed up shit, and the killing of their whistleblower was really the last straw.

Was watching the documentary recently. The first plane to go down was a Lion Air plane, the pilot was an Indian. They ended up blaming the pilot for the crash and said "A US trained pilot would have known how to handle the situation"

Turns out, the pilot was actually trained in the US, Boeing was just being racist.

Really did boil my blood, that part.

You do realise why it’s called so right? It’s not like “ oh we are in distress and we need a woman to guide us out”. It’s more like setting her up for failure and take the blame

Yes, I know that 😅

This is so cool! How often we admit the company is in crisis though 😅

Shut up and take command of the company, woman 🏆

This is actually a pretty sexist move. Makes sense psychologically, women would be perceived to be nicer than men. But they'd also be easier to pass the blame on when things don't work.

Fucked up

Sounds like a conspiracy theory.

Board would prefer someone who can improve shareholder value rather than some scapegoat

BouncyCupcake

There is no shareholder value left for them, it’s now just waiting out the storm.

So you are telling me they've given up on company completely? In that case it makes more sense to just sell off the stake and chill instead of worrying about next CEO anyways

This is shoddy reporting at best. The ceo who resigned was set up for failure given he wasn’t the CEO when all those decisions which led to the issues were taken.

The successor is a far better place to be. Something that goes wrong here, not her fault. Anything good- credit to her. If anything it’s the opposite of glass cliff.

One thing where a woman ceo is helped is that she can’t be criticized/bashed like a male ceo lest it should look like bullying. Glass cliff is what this is not.

It can very well be a case of glass cliff. But if they had hired someone from outside, say a man, would people have not questioned the move? People can still terms it as a case of glass ceiling where an internal candidate is ignored for the top job just because she is a woman.

Lol.. Women get the top job.. And are trusted with the responsibility to fix things in an iconic company.. But they are still the victims... There is no pleasing you guys... You would have complained in some other way if they choose a new male ceo...
