Hey gviners, creating a thread to cumulate some examples of people having good careers beyond the age of 40
Reason - so much career anxiety spread around by linkedin gurus, that careers after age of 40 is dead

- My cousin is a growth leader in an USA startup thriving well, at the age of 42
- My uncle is a lawyer in India, continuing his sole practice still at the age of 55

Most MNC employees have a thriving career, even beyond the age of 50
Same is true with consultants etc
Most of these people have enough wealth to not work beyond the age of 40, hence you dont see them around, or they start their own business
I haven't come across someone who left their salaried job to start a business.
I am still here at 41 plugging away at an IT job. Am I not a miracle!?

40+ is where you make the most, not talking about those 2-3 YOE earning in crores, in general most population reach a decent salary when they are 40+ this is the time most debt are generally paid off, both working and good financial planning.
One other aspect is since you are getting paid a lot, if you are not really good at what you do, without putting extra effort, its always going to be anxiety, during down turn high paid ones are the first ones who are generally axed
I am 35 , doing good enough as Group Product Manager , managing 15+ members , managing P&L of the group and see a good scope to learn and grow in the Industry . Most people between 35 to 45 makes good money , settles well , generates long term assets . Still have the ambition to start up at some point and make a good living . I am happy for those earning 1-2Cr within their first few years in life but this isn’t normal with most of us . So chill 😎 and look at progressing YoY
