The No-Nonsense Guide to AI Engineering
The AI Engineer, is the next new thing according to what I am hearing from top Leaders. One is involved in working with AI APIs and open-source models to productise AI capabilities.
AI tasks that can now be accomplished with ease, thanks to the availability of foundation models and APIs. It also touches on the challenges in evaluating, applying, and productizing AI.
AI Engineer is the new role to get. The title is on the rise. I have been interviewing and a lot of companies seem to hire AI Engineers compared to ML Engineers now.
OpenAI has changed the game since models and APIs has significantly reduced the time and resources required to accomplish AI tasks, making it easier for AIx to work with these technologies. This is the greatest thing ever in the history of mankind.
We had room sized computers in 1960s that could only compute simple calculations. Now you have a more powerful computer in your microwave.
Now imagine, the day you can run GPT4 on your smartphone. The compute will get their with miniaturization of compute or offloading to cloud. We need more AI Engineers, please reach out to me in DMs please. I will get you an interview call if you have worked in DevOps, Infra, ML/AI, LLM finetuning or anything similar using PyTorch, Tensorflow etc.

Personally I am finetuning mistral and Llama for many people in freelancing. It is good money. I make 6k-8k profit every day and put models for finetuning at night before I sleep. Morning I revert with deliverables.

Boss can you guide new learners?

Dude can we have a quick connect any time you are available. Want to know what you are doing and how you are leveraging it to make money. I have worked on openai api and assistant but just as a hobby.

Where is the guide?

In my previous role, I worked with fine tuning LLM and also deployed DL model in production. Though I wanted to deploy the Foundational model too but didn't got any chance to do it.

This is plain old bullshit. No one remembers when leaders are wrong. They would have read something in a mck report and regurgitated as their own opinion. Once they go deeper, they would know why such a role is impossible.

Bullcrap

So we went from API developer to AI engineer in one go? Because both are the same based on what you said.

I am currently working on inference from DL models and developing FastAPI to serve the model solution as a service and productionizing this solution. I am currently looking out for a switch. I am interested to learn and gets hands on the fine tuning the DL models/LLMs.

@ShallowSpawn I am not getting DM option. Please reply

Yet to master front end here, peeps moving to engineer AI 🫡
