Very True, reason is not a skill gap Or tech shift...clients are not renewing contracts due to new startups/agencies are delivering same product at low price with early delivery.

The way AI is evolving, this is justified. In the coming years, it'll advance even more having potential to destroy a lot of IT companies. So either get started to upskill yourself with what will be relevant in coming years or start planning for lay off situations.

What upskilling? Are there any roadmap that you started following as a safety net?

Well there is nothing specific but I feel career options like DevOps will be much safer and in demand. For software developers, they need to get familiarised with the latest agentic developments, system architecture and AI integrators-validators.
