Afaik, the least performed ones in a team is laid off , also those departments who had less utilisation .

If you work in a very high performing team and u were like above average performer , chances are u had to face an unfair exit.

The layoff doesn’t seem like random , one of my close connection works here

In hand salary. It’s notice period (2 months for engineering) + 2 weeks * tenure years, with a minimum of 3 months in total. The leave encashment is based on basic pay.
