I’ve been job hunting for the past month, and now I have two offers to consider. One is from a startup that hasn’t launched yet and is still in its development phase, while the other is from a well-established small service-based company. Both offers come with the same compensation package of around 40k INR. However, I’m conflicted about which one to choose.
A key factor is that the startup requires a one-year commitment due to the NDA I’d need to sign. I’m also thinking that if I put in the effort over the next 2-3 months, I might be able to secure a better remote opportunity. Given all this, I’m unsure whether I should accept one of these offers or reject both and prepare for something better. With just one year of experience, I’m uncertain which option would be the best for my career growth

Choose the one that more closely aligns with your goals, get a raise, leave. Apply somewhere else with a higher CTC.
Choose the startup if you value innovation, learning opportunities, and building early-stage products. Opt for the service-based company for stability, diverse projects, and skill-building. If confident in securing better opportunities soon, prepare and wait. Evaluate career goals carefully.
You can get in contact with someone who is working in that startup and ask about the work culture, salary payment on times is done or not, how are things handled when something goes south because though start up let's you learn well but there is no guarantee it will work. Not to discourage anyone, but a pre check is necessary while joining any organisation of which you know less. Same goes for small MNC, if the tech involved and work culture is good then just spend some time, learn a year or two and switch.
