Suddenly everyone is criticising VCs!

What’s with the startup founder scene these days? Saw a bunch of tweets and reddit threads recently criticising a bunch of VCs. While they might be assholes, but honestly the job is pretty hard. I have a few VC friends who I know very closely and I know how much effort and time they put in helping founders.

Unfortunately this is a job of rejecting 99% of your customers and hence I get the disappointment. Sometimes they want to do a deal but don’t get approval from the GP. Trust me, most VCs I know truly respect and appreciate founders. You will find rotten apples everywhere but as a whole the community is truly helping companies shape the future of India.

I know so many VCs who go WAYYY BEYOND their core to help founders (even before investing in them). Making right connects, giving critical feedback, adding value to 100s of people is hard.

Its tough to keep everyone happy. We as Cred also struggle with it in so many ways, but I really respect and appreciate the VC community for what they have done. So many people who took bets on visionary founders and gave them the capital which is changing the future. Without it, the founders’ idea would have been a mere pitch deck or a bootstrapped slow growth lagging business.
