Look at it as a glorified executive assistant to the CEO who has a view on multiple business verticals and takes stock of key projects (product launch/supply chain optimisation/PnL/partnerships/pricing etc) under the purview of leadership.
They report into the CEO directly but is a high cross-functional role with day to day collaborations with key stakeholders.
You roughly spend close to 2 years in this role and slowly transition into leading one of the business units.
They prefer MBB or Tier 1 consulting folks as they have a view on multiple industries/vertical at a macro level. Also, good exposure with the CEO.
In my view, it's a solid role from understanding business at the most granular level to high visibility + networking role.
