

Smoking affects my life
Im a chain smoker for the last 7 years im trying to quit smoking but im unable to do it . It affects my health severly im noticing everyday. Not sure how long i can live . If i stop quiting gor some days im unable to focus on my work im getting sleep during that time. Im in a high paying job . I have started replaced by coffeee but later point of time my stomach sensitive to coffee . Please guide me

You gotta take break from things which creates stress env.
Someone I knew quit heroine, he took a year break. I guess all you need is two weeks Break.

If you place anything more important than ‘quiting smoking ‘ -Your mind will trick you .So for some time (21 days for a start ) just make’ staying healthy as the most important thing .
E.g in ur message- it tricks you that by saying it will effect work .. but the remedy is that if you change priorities.. it has no where to go

I will suggest something worth quiting for is the only way you can . Coming from heavy smoker of 9 years , i have stopped smoking from the past 4 months . What drives is the improvement in my health, stamina , the cough. Infact all my smoker friends are also appreciating my progress.
The reason for me was i like living , and a good life atleast requires a healthy heart. In this already so toxic world , the least you can do for yourself, your heart and maybe your loved ones is to atleast stop the smoking habit.

The only way is to replace it with other rewarding tasks, weed is easiest, then coffee then sex 🤷 unless you find something that you're obsessed with...

As a chainsmoker of 9 years, the best way I was able to quit (For a month or so) is cold turkey. Eliminate or replace the times you want a smoke (after lunch, before meeting, after a hard day of work) with exercise or gym. Worked wonders of me before I relapsed due to some personal disasters.

If you are a chain smoker try following.
- Make new office friends who are non smokers possible a girl
- Eat elaichi/ clover
- Buy only loose cigarettes if at all don’t buy packets
- Watch a video every 4 hours reminding ill effects of smoking.
- Stop buying cigarettes if you want to smoke borrow or ask. This will psychologically deter you.

Quit cold turkey. Keep bananas and water handy. Put a rubber band on fingers, pain reminds you to not give in. Bear the post quitting acidity pain and fear and irrational feeling of doom. If you do this for a week, you will see the change.
And smoke only as a reward with a drink, not more than once a week. See the value increase in life

You have to stop it for a month. Then you won't crave for it. Try hash or weed to have a little bit of tobacco. It's not that addictive and you can't smoke it alone. You do it only with friends and at night. So you are balanced.
