Small Wins (2x’d my MF Portfolio)
The power of compounding really works! Started with a meagre salary of 4L/annum in 2018. But made sure to SIP 5K every month in Mutual Funds, and kept on increasing with career progression. This could’ve been more but I wasn’t able to regularly SIP during the two years of my masters I did after my first job.
This may not be as much as the other tech dude bros out here sitting in CRs but this is a big milestone for me and all I’d like to say is SIP really does work and it’s all about being in the long run. Onwards and upwards only now 💪🏼💪🏼

Can you please share the MF names you invested in?

Well, it’s a mix of about 15-16 different funds ranging from Large Cap/Small Cap/ Mid Cap/ ELSS.
I won’t name all but the top performers:-
- Nippon India Small Cap Fund Growth
- SBI Bluechip Fund Growth
- Paragh Parikh Flexi Cap
- Quant Small Cap
- Motilal Oswal Midcap Fund
- Kotak Infrastructure & Economic Reform Fund
- Nippon India Growth Fund Direct Growth
- HDFC Retirements Savings Fund Equity Plan Direct Growth
I also have a better risk appetite so there’s a good amount of Small Caps/Mid Caps, but this might vary for others.

Wont name all of them 😂 bhai khud he launch kiya hai kya 😧

Sorry to bust your bubble, but absolute returns don't mean anything. You can wait a 100 years and get 2x. What matters is XIRR. Annualised returns. 17% is average performance. Ideally you should Target 25%+

Hence I mentioned a small win and I acknowledge that. The ELSS and Debt Funds have brought down the XIRR, otherwise it should be close to that. Regardless, being a qualified CFA I don’t think 17%+ XIRR is average :)

Good Work bro. Could you post an update to XIRR return if you remove the debts funds. I want to see the equity XIRR.

I bought Bonk today let's see 🙈

17% XIRR is pretty decent

Is this just from ur salary? I guess u don’t have a lot of expense or high salary from few years back. Only top 1% would have better investments than u in same timeline & age. So props to u to keep at it. How much do u invest monthly now?

Yep this is pure from salary. And true I don’t have a lot of expense since I put up with my parents, as for my salary - I’d say it’s pretty average. 25k/month is what I put in every month just in MF, honestly it’s not that much at all :)

Ur discipline to keep at it is impressive and ya not having to take any of it out helps the growth. Cool, how did u decide what to raise ur SIP by? Some factor or impromptu
